MARIO AMURA

2022

Single Edition 160×240 cm Fine Art print Hahnemühle

A deep blue background, streaked with incandescent reds and dotted with flashes of yellow, stands out as a surface on which light seems to be worked like a living material. In these images by Amura, we rediscover the density of long exposures: the trails of light, the fleeting auras, the micro-movements of the sensor become gestures, almost like brushstrokes. This visual vibration of blue and red comes from overlapping lights, as though time itself had sculpted the chromatic matter. Amura’s photographic research and long exposures, so deeply pictorial, end up converging with the explorations of contemporary painting, not far from the gestural language of Georges Mathieu (1921-2012), who for decades has been questioning the relationship between matter, light, gesture, and the energy of movement. Here the camera does not merely record: it acts as an extension of the hand, a brush of light that transforms reality into a colourful script.Napex 225050
